Do you know the optical module?
What is the main function of the Optical Transceiver?
The optical module is an optoelectronic module that performs photoelectric and electro-optical conversion. The transmitting end of the optical module converts the electrical signal into an optical signal, and the receiving end restores the optical signal to an electrical signal.
According to the package and speed, common optical modules are divided into SFP、SFP+、XFP、QSFP+、CFP、GBIC、CXP、X2、Xenpak、CFP2、CFP4、DAC、AOC etc.

According to wavelength, Optical modules can also be divided into business optical modules and wavelength division optical modules
The common wavelengths of business optical modules are as below
850nm: multi-mode, transmission distance 100-500m;
1310nm: single mode, transmission distance 2-40 km;
1550nm: single mode, the transmission distance is 40-120 km;
Wavelength splitting optical modules mainly divided into coarse wave optical modules (CWDM optical modules) and dense wave optical modules (DWDM optical modules)
CWDM optical module: wavelength 1270-1610nm, every 20nm/channel, total 18 channels;
DWDM optical module: divided into L-band and C-band, L-band from 1610.06~1564.68 with a total of 54 bands at 0.8nm intervals; C-band from 1563.86~1530.33 at 0.8nm intervals with a total of 45 bands; the most commonly used is the C-band C21-C60 wavelength.
Note:
The wavelength division optical module must be used with the corresponding wavelength division multiplexer, all of which are dual-fiber.
